Things to do in the Peak District – High Peak and Tissington Trail

There’s nothing I like more than a big walk on a nice day, so after waking up to an unexpected sunny day in the Peak District that can only mean one thing…Big walk and a picnic! And what better place to venture to than the High Peak and Tissington Trails.

Just off the A515 heading towards Ashbourne from Buxton is a cute little cafe and cycle hire at Parsley Hay – this is where we parked. We didn’t hire bikes but you can check out the prices here.

panoramic views!

The trail is well kept and easily accessible for walkers, pushchairs, and bikes. The trail splits into two just after Parsley Hay and carries on with the High Peak trail on your left and Tissington trail on your right. I think in total the trails are about 14 miles long (not for the faint hearted) we did about 2.5 miles and then turned back.

So if you’re ever stuck for anything to do and you’re in the Peak District head over to the High Peak and Tissington Trails for some exploring of your own!

With beautiful rolling hills as your viewpoint and an ice cream waiting for you at the cafe – what better way to spend your Sunday!
